You will combine platform vision, governance operations, cost management, and executive communications to improve policy consistency, license management, usage compliance, and audit readiness across the organization. Operating across engineering, security, architecture, and finance stakeholders, you will establish product roadmaps for enterprise-wide telemetry platforms (Datadog, Splunk, Edge Delta), scale responsible AI-assisted developer tooling adoption, and manage strategic vendor relationships.
Duration: 6-Month Contract (with high potential for extension)
Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)
Target Start Date: September 2026
Advantages
High-Visibility Platform Ownership: Serve as the founding Product Manager for core enterprise observability infrastructure and cutting-edge AI developer tooling governance.
FinOps & AI Innovation Focus: Lead the chargeback, usage tracking, and cost optimization strategy for AI token consumption as developer adoption scales enterprise-wide.
Strategic Vendor Governance: Lead high-level relationships, QBRs, and commercial commitments with major enterprise software vendors (e.g., Datadog).
Cross-Functional Executive Visibility: Translate complex platform performance, cost, and compliance data into executive-ready narratives for leadership, audit, and risk teams.
Responsibilities
Strategy, Roadmapping & AI Tooling Governance
Observability Product Vision: Own and execute the product vision and roadmap for enterprise-wide monitoring, alerting, and telemetry platforms (Datadog, Splunk, Edge Delta).
AI Token Chargeback Project: Drive the strategy and operational model for an AI token consumption chargeback application, establishing policy consistency, cost controls, and usage compliance for AI developer tools.
Adoption & Self-Service Governance: Establish observability standards, onboarding frameworks, and maturity models while driving observability-as-code and developer self-service initiatives.
Cost Control, Stakeholder Management & Vendor Operations
Business Value & FinOps: Track platform utilization and adoption metrics, driving showback/chargeback frameworks, cost optimization, and license management across engineering business units.
Stakeholder Alignment: Conduct discovery sessions with application engineering teams, manage customer feedback loops, and influence governance outcomes without direct managerial authority.
Vendor & Commercial Management: Coordinate strategic vendor relationships, participate in QBRs, manage contract commitments, and align vendor roadmaps to long-term enterprise priorities.
Qualifications
Product Roadmapping Experience: Proven track record owning a technical product or platform roadmap within a large enterprise technology organization.
Enterprise Governance & Compliance: Experience defining, operating, or improving enterprise governance frameworks, operational controls, and compliance processes.
Cross-Functional Influence: Demonstrated ability to drive alignment and influence distributed engineering, security, architecture, and compliance stakeholders.
Vendor & Commercial Acumen: Hands-on experience working with vendors, technology contracts, budgets, and commercial management.
Executive Communication: Exceptional written communication and documentation skills, with proven capability translating technical platform concerns into executive-ready language for leadership and audit audiences.
Preferred Assets & Nice-to-Haves
Direct experience with telemetry, monitoring, or observability platforms (Datadog, Splunk, or Edge Delta).
Familiarity with developer platforms, internal engineering tools, or AI-assisted engineering workflows.
Experience building lightweight, practical operating mechanisms rather than purely theoretical policy frameworks.
Summary
