Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Plan and lead concurrent I&IT and AV projects, developing project charters, master plans, and work breakdown schedules.
- Technical Oversight: Provide specialized expertise in Audio-Visual, Videoconferencing, and VoIP technologies; ensure finalization of functional design drawings and onsite system installation.
- Procurement & Vendor Management: Coordinate I&IT procurement to negotiate and acquire hardware, software, and IP circuits; manage external service providers and local trades.
- Risk & Change Management: Identify and assess project risks, recommending mitigation strategies; apply change management principles to facilitate business process shifts.
- Stakeholder Relations: Manage high-level client relationships and partnerships, providing advice for business cases and Treasury Board submissions.
- Quality Assurance: Develop test plans based on use cases, oversee system functionality testing, and manage the final client handover (Commissioning) and sign-off.
- Financial Control: Manage project budgets, refine cost estimates, and ensure fiscal accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Experience: At least 5 years of Audio-Visual/Videoconferencing technology experience and 10 years of Project Management experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of VoIP, Video over IP, building telecommunications infrastructure, and high-availability hosting solutions.
- Tools: Expert proficiency in Microsoft Project and the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Methodologies: Strong grasp of software development platforms, multi-tier models, and cloud technologies.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation, conflict resolution, and presentation skills; ability to translate complex technical issues for senior executive decision-making.
- Education/Certification: Knowledge of technical standards and best practices for AV and IT deployment is essential.
