Responsibilities
Reporting Architecture & Migration: Plan, assess, and execute the migration and modernization of hundreds of legacy operational reports over to centralized business intelligence and modern reporting applications.
Data Modeling & Analytics Optimization: Design, build, and deploy optimized logical and physical data models tailored specifically for advanced business intelligence, analytics, and complex data reconciliation.
Requirements Discovery & Prototyping: Conduct comprehensive reporting needs assessments and run technical prototyping sessions to translate diverse business specifications into highly functional data schemas.
Advanced Query Programming: Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex relational database scripts and backend stored procedures to extract and aggregate high-volume datasets smoothly.
Quality Verification & Triage: Identify, isolate, and apply quick corrective actions to resolve calculations or data discrepancies discovered during pre-release technical testing.
Accessibility Compliance: Ensure all front-end reporting layouts, parameters, and interactive dashboards strictly adhere to digital design regulations and accessibility standards.
Technical Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Author comprehensive technical deployment strategies, integration maps, and operational manuals to facilitate smooth knowledge transfer sessions for internal operational teams.
Qualifications
Power BI Toolset Proficiency: Minimum of 2 years of proven, hands-on professional experience developing and deploying complex dashboards using Power BI Desktop alongside pixel-perfect operational reporting layouts in Power BI Report Builder.
Advanced SQL Scripting: Minimum of 4 years of verified experience writing, tuning, and debugging complex relational database query languages, specifically across T-SQL and PL-SQL platforms.
DAX Programming Mastery: Minimum of 2 years of dedicated technical experience implementing advanced business logic, calculations, and data analytics expressions via DAX.
Database & Integration Literacy: Strong capability to design, build, and validate relational databases and data integration points connected with third-party software applications.
Functional Testing Acumen: Proven experience structuring robust deployment strategies, functional testing matrices, and backend data-validation frameworks.
Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of providing clear technical guidance, gathering user criteria, and translating complex metrics for diverse stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
Prior professional business intelligence or report engineering experience operating within a Canadian public sector or highly regulated corporate IT landscape.
