Responsibilities
Lab Ownership - operation and maintenance
o Maintain ownership of specific lab areas, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and audit readiness.
o Enforce and model safe laboratory practices for all employees.
o Continuously seek and implement improvements to lab efficiency and expand services offered.
o Track and coordinate lab logistics.
o Maintain lab inventory and proactively manage supply purchases, balancing engineering needs, business priorities, and budget constraints.
Test Equipment maintenance
o Oversee, coordinate, and/or perform maintenance and repairs for all lab equipment.
o Act as asset owner for equipment calibration, ensuring timely submission and tracking.
o Contribute to decisions on equipment acquisition, retirement, and calibration parameters.
Test Fixture Fabrication and Qualification
o Independently assemble simple test fixtures and contribute to fixture development.
o Provide insights into fixture components and construction processes.
o Execute fixture verification and validation (V&V) processes.
Experimentation and test execution
o Perform development and verification testing with minimal supervision.
o Follow protocols and instructions to conduct design verification and experimental testing with
high attention to detail.
o Accurately document and communicate test data to engineers.
o Coordinate with offsite labs as needed, with support from team members.
o Consistently follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Communicate results clearly, with
occasional follow-up discussions
Qualifications
Education and experience:
o Minimum: High School Diploma
o Preferred: 2-year Associate’s or Technical Degree in an engineering-related discipline
o OR 3+ years of relevant technical experience in a regulated lab environment with increasing responsibility
Knowledge and Skills:
o Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
o Ability to interpret test protocols, technical manuals, and supplier agreements
o Strong documentation skills (e.g., datasheets, prints, supplier forms)
o Skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining lab equipment
o Capable of managing engineering labs and operating hand/power tools and sensitive test
equipment
General Competencies:
o Fluent in English (written and verbal), especially in technical contexts
o Effective communicator via email, phone, and in-person
o Service-oriented team player with initiative and minimal supervision
o Strong collaboration skills across teams and locations
o Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
o Adaptable to changing priorities and fast-paced environments
o Self-managed and motivated
