Responsibilities
- Migration Strategy: Provide best-practice solutions for the transition of structured data and unstructured files from legacy platforms to modernized cloud solutions.
- Full Lifecycle ETL: Lead the Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) process using tools like Informatica or Azure Data Factory.
- Data Profiling & Cleansing: Analyze legacy data sources to identify quality issues; suggest and implement pre-migration cleansing and data reconciliation.
- Technical Implementation: Write complex SQL and PL-SQL queries to handle intricate table relationships and ensure precise data mapping.
- Cloud Integration: Manage migrations into Azure SQL Database and handle file storage transitions (Azure BLOB, SharePoint, Oracle BLOBs).
- Documentation: Develop and maintain critical artifacts including ETL mappings, comprehensive data dictionaries, and migration strategy plans.
- Testing & Audit: Define and execute testing strategies, mock conversions, and post-migration audits to verify the completeness and accuracy of converted data.
Qualifications
- ETL Seniority: 7+ years of experience in developing and documenting ETL processes specifically for large-scale data conversion and migration.
- Technical Stack: Extensive experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, and Azure SQL Database.
- Cloud Expertise: Proven proficiency in Azure Data Factory and cloud-based DB technologies.
- File Migration: Specific experience in migrating document attachments and binary objects (BLOBs) from legacy systems.
- Information Management: Deep understanding of master data vs. transactional data interdependencies and information lifecycle policies.
