Our client is looking for a Senior Software Developer for a 5 month contract in Toronto.
This is an onsite role.
Advantages

Responsibilities
• Provide Cobol-based client application support for the users on an ongoing basis
• Support, maintain and enhance the Trust Accounts Management System including required testing
• Perform required analysis; business requirements prepare functional specifications and detail designs
• Write or change, maintain and unit test programs in IMS DB/DC Mainframe Express (PC environment) using Enterprise COBOL for ZOS, BTS, JCL and CLIST, following existing standards.
• Provide support for Easytrieve processes
• Write or change, maintain and unit test programs for conversion, and Integration (between the mainframe and application servers using tools such as Connect Direct, HIS and IMS connect) following existing standards.
• Promote programs from development to system test. System test online and batch programs. All work must follow existing standards.
• Provide support in the development & production environments.
• Ensure all work completed in compliance of the OPGT’s system development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Prepare specifications, and document all modifications and enhancements made following existing standards.
• Completed assigned project work within the timeframes set out in the project plans On-call support for client
• Respond to after hour system abends and provide immediate resolution to enable the daily batch process to complete successfully by 4:00 am
• Perform daily verification of the previous business days batch process and print reports Add on-request jobs to the Ad-hoc process
• Perform other functions related to the project as required under the direction of the Manager of Technology Services.
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements
· A minimum of 5 years’ knowledge of, experience with, and proven skills (within the last 9 years) developing and supporting applications in IMS DB/DC Mainframe Express (PC environment) using Enterprise COBOL for ZOS, BTS, JCL and CLIST
· Must have similar knowledge and experience with TSO (Time Sharing Option), JCL, BTS and CLIST.
· Familiarity with IMS Connect, Host Integration Services (HIS), TCP/IP and Easytrieve are also essential.
· Knowledge and proven experience with:
o Trust Accounting Systems using double entry accounting practices
o Other Financial Applications (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Investment Management)
o Case Management Applications
o Integration business applications on multi-platforms
