As a Senior Software Developer, you will bridge the gap between core backend application development, enterprise service bus (ESB) messaging architectures, and database management systems. Operating fully onsite in Toronto, you will lead the technical design, systems analysis, and hands-on development of web-based applications and interface solutions. This position demands a technical authority with strong expertise in IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE/IIB), WebSphere Message Broker, IBM MQ, .NET technologies, and PowerShell automation who can deliver reliable messaging flows, secure APIs, and high-performance system integrations.

Develop, enhance, and maintain web-based applications using .NET frameworks, C#, VB.NET, JavaScript, and Azure DevOps.
Design, publish, and manage secure REST and SOAP APIs, handling JSON, XML, and XSLT data transformations.
Perform database design, query development, and performance optimization using Oracle, PL/SQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.
Write complex PowerShell scripts to automate deployment routines, system management, and repetitive operational tasks.
Configure reverse and forward proxy services, managing web server settings (such as Apache) and secure communication channels.
Execute thorough unit, system integration, and API testing to troubleshoot and resolve technical defects across integrated application layers.
Collaborate with cross-functional development teams, solution architects, and project managers to clarify technical requirements and solution designs.
Maintain clear technical specifications, system architecture documentation, deployment runbooks, and implementation notes.
Qualifications
Core Technical & Middleware Requirements
IBM Middleware Mastery: Strong proficiency in IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM Integration Bus (IIB), WebSphere Message Broker, and IBM MQ.
Application Development Stack: Demonstrated experience with web-based .NET application development technologies and frameworks (C#, VB.NET, JavaScript).
Integration Protocols & APIs: Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with REST and SOAP web services, JSON, XML, XSLT, and interface design patterns.
PowerShell Automation: Proven expertise in scripting and task automation using PowerShell.
Database Systems: Strong experience managing, querying, and optimizing relational databases using Oracle (PL/SQL) and Microsoft SQL Server.
Preferred Technical Assets
Proxy & Web Servers: Experience configuring forward and reverse proxies alongside web server management (e.g., Apache).
GIS & Java Exposure: Working knowledge of ArcGIS, ArcGIS APIs, spatial data management, or Java programming is considered an asset.
DevOps & Tooling: Familiarity with Azure DevOps for continuous integration and version control.
