Our client is looking for a Solution Architect for a contract-based role for 9 months with the flexibility to work remotely or from the Peterborough or Toronto office. Laptop and equipment will be provided.

Responsibilities
âą Lead GIS solution architecture planning and documentation for multiple concurrent projects
âą Drive enterprise gating deliverables (AGP 0â3) for geospatial IT initiatives
âą Define conceptual, logical, and physical solution architectures aligned with industry standards
âą Analyze current infrastructure and recommend modernized architectures for ArcGIS-based systems
âą Provide architecture interpretation, guidance, and technical leadership to cross-functional teams
âą Collaborate with stakeholders on modernization, cloud, integration, and data architecture needs
âą Ensure designs support accessibility (AODA), cybersecurity, privacy, and data governance requirements
âą Participate in stakeholder meetings, JAD sessions, and EA review board engagements
âą Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and governance artifacts as required
Qualifications
Must Have:
âą 10+ years in IT, with 5+ years in enterprise or solution architecture leadership roles
âą Strong experience with GIS platforms, including ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS, Geocortex/VertiGIS
âą Proven expertise with enterprise architecture gating processes (AGP 1 and 2 focus)
âą In-depth knowledge of GO-ITS standards, architecture governance, and documentation practices
âą Strong ability to lead multi-stakeholder engagements, provide technical advice, and align teams
âą Applied experience in infrastructure and application architecture design and delivery
âą Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills across business and technical domains
âą Familiarity with AODA standards, cybersecurity, and privacy compliance
Nice to Have:
âą Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
âą Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, APIs, and accessible UI design
âą Background in Information/Data Architecture, Records Management, and Master Data principles
âą Working knowledge of cloud security standards and OPS-specific GO-ITS policies (e.g., 25.13, 25.21)
âą Experience advising on procurement documentation, solution acquisition, or vendor engagement
