Responsibilities
- Lead the hands-on mapping and implementation of clinical terminologies, including SNOMED-CT and LOINC.
- Conduct research, assessments, and analysis for data standards harmonization and interoperability, and provide end-to-end support for FHIR and Terminology specification development.
- Use clinical experience to conduct process mapping, process improvement, and operationalize standards-based workflows in various care settings.
- Develop strategies, prepare business cases, and conduct feasibility studies for terminology initiatives. Support the implementation of the Terminology Strategy, Value, Literacy, and Adoption plans.
- Conduct requirements gathering, develop documentation, and collaborate with partners across clinical, business, and technical domains.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years’ hands-on experience in mapping and implementing clinical terminologies such as SNOMED-CT and LOINC.
- A minimum of 10 years’ clinical experience within Canada in acute care, primary care, and/or community care settings.
- Extensive knowledge of digital exchange standards like FHIR and their application with terminology tools (e.g., Ontoserver).
- Extensive knowledge of pan-Canadian digital exchange standards and tooling.
- Proven hands-on experience implementing terminology services and solutions.
- Strong understanding of the standards lifecycle and the provincial and pan-Canadian digital health landscape.
- Excellent communication, partner engagement, and time management skills.
