Responsibilities
- Mainframe Oversight: Provide high-level oversight for mainframe batch processing, ensuring timely execution and output delivery within a complex enterprise framework.
- Production Control: Offer expert technical advice on production control procedures and lead the coordination of automation for client production applications.
- Incident & Recovery: Execute application recovery procedures to meet stringent client requirements while conforming to corporate system standards.
- Scheduling & Utilities: Manage automated scheduling tools (e.g., CA-7) and their linkages to batch and online applications, including IMS and DB2.
- Change Management: Lead and document change management activities, ensuring all operational modifications are tracked and risk-mitigated.
- Output Management: Oversee printing and delivery tools (e.g., View and Deliver) to ensure reports and data reach stakeholders accurately.
- Project Support: Support large-scale projects related to system migrations and new tool implementations.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive procedures and operational manuals for technical and non-technical staff.
Qualifications
- Core Experience: 10+ years of experience providing oversight for mainframe batch processing in large-scale, complex environments.
- Technical Mastery: Advanced knowledge of CA-7 scheduling, IMS, DB2, and output tools like View and Deliver.
- Migration Expertise: 10+ years of experience managing complex projects specifically related to tool implementations and system migrations.
- Operational Skills: Demonstrated experience in change management and developing detailed operational documentation.
- Regulatory/Standard Knowledge: Experience conforming to corporate system standards operational procedures.
- Communication: Strong writing and verbal skills, with the ability to provide clear technical advice to diverse client groups.
- Recent Experience: Active experience within the last 3 years in a similar enterprise-level support role.
