Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Provide expert advice on testing strategies, selection of automated tools, and resource identification for integration, system, and stress testing.
- Test Development: Create detailed test plans, scripts, and cases for complex GUI and non-GUI environments, ensuring full coverage of business rules and data logic.
- Data Integrity: Lead data reconciliation, analysis, and cleansing activities. Validate data consistency and accuracy across 3-tier software platforms and databases.
- Execution & Defect Management: Execute functional, regression, and UAT tests. Document and track defects using Jira, ALM, and Bugzilla, working closely with developers for swift resolution.
- Accessibility (AODA): Ensure all applications comply with WCAG 2.0 AA standards using specialized tools like WAVES, JAWS, or NVDA.
- Performance Testing: Develop and execute performance and load test scripts using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner to identify system bottlenecks.
- Agile Integration: Actively participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives within a cross-functional team.
Qualifications
- Senior Testing Experience: 10+ years of proven experience leading QA for complex, business-critical systems with high annual change rates.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of web-based 3-tier platforms and rule-driven solutions like IBM J-Rules Engine.
- Tooling Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with Jira, HP/Microfocus Product Suite, and automation tools such as Selenium, UFT, or Postman.
- Data Mastery: Strong skills in writing SQL queries to validate backend data integrity and experience in data conversion and transformation testing.
- Compliance & Standards: Demonstrated understanding of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related web standards.
- Methodologies: Strong grasp of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies and the full Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate multiple diverse teams.
