Responsibilities
Test Strategy & Execution: Design and execute comprehensive test plans and cases based on business requirements and system response documents.
Mainframe Testing: Perform systems testing within an MVS/COBOL/DB2 environment, ensuring legacy systems function according to modern business needs.
Data Validation: Examine test databases using SQL and JCL to verify that actual results align with expected outcomes.
Defect Management: Analyze, log, and monitor the resolution of system variances using automated problem management tools such as Azure DevOps.
Requirements Analysis: Evaluate Use Cases and non-functional requirements to identify data needs and create appropriate test data sets.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business clients, developers, and DBAs to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Knowledge Transfer: Provide guidance and formal knowledge transfer to internal staff to ensure long-term system maintainability.
Qualifications
Experience: Proven track record in systems testing within the client specifically working on mainframe/legacy systems.
Technical Proficiency: Continuous, significant experience in an MVS/COBOL/DB2 environment, including expertise in SQL and JCL.
Methodology: Excellent knowledge of system testing methodologies and the ability to execute both functional and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and analyze business requirements documentation.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and consult effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Tools: Experience using automated problem management systems like Azure DevOps for tracking and monitoring defects.
