Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on testing strategies and tools. Develop comprehensive test plans, scripts, and cases for complex systems involving intricate data, rules, and high rates of change.
- Execute functional, integration, regression, and system tests in both GUI and non-GUI environments. Validate system behavior against business requirements to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, performance/stress testing, and data reconciliation for large-scale migrations or transformations.
- Conduct thorough accessibility testing aligned with AODA (WCAG 2.0 AA) standards using tools such as JAWS, NVDA, and WAVE.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, and Bugzilla. Work closely with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.
- Maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Postman, or Micro Focus UFT, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups) and collaborate with Business Analysts and Project Managers to clarify requirements and maintain quality metrics.
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading manual testing and data reconciliation for large, business-critical 3-tier software platforms.
- Excellent working knowledge of Jira, Bugzilla, and the Micro Focus Product Suite. Familiarity with IBM J-Rules Engine and COTS implementations is highly preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience in Accessibility testing (AODA/WCAG) and familiarity with screen readers and compliance software.
- Demonstrated ability to write complex SQL queries to validate backend data and perform comprehensive data analysis.
- Clear understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience working within Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall environments.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, or Bash) for automation and experience with performance tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, strong verbal/written communication, and a proven track record of meeting strict deadlines.
