As a principal QA authority, you will bridge the gap between business requirements, development teams, and system release cycles. Operating fully onsite in Toronto, you will lead the creation of test strategies and plans, design comprehensive test cases, perform manual and automated testing, and enforce strict accessibility standards. This role is tailored for a detail-oriented expert who can independently analyze business requirement documents (BRDs), manage defect triage processes, build test automation suites, and ensure overall platform reliability.

Plan and execute comprehensive testing efforts across GUI and non-GUI environments, including functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Analyze Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and user stories to define test coverage and build realistic test data requirements.
Design, write, and execute detailed test scripts, test scenarios, and test cases using tools like HP ALM, Jira, TestRail, or Azure DevOps.
Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate closely with development teams to reproduce and resolve technical issues.
Lead defect triage sessions, manage defect lifecycles, and generate comprehensive defect summary reports for project leadership.
Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using frameworks such as OpenText™ UFT, Selenium, TestComplete, or Postman, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Conduct system performance, stress, and load testing using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner to evaluate scalability and isolate bottlenecks.
Perform specialized manual testing across mobile devices, web channels, and digital accessibility tools (such as JAWS or VoiceOver) in compliance with AODA standards.
Validate backend data integrity, consistency, and accuracy by writing SQL database queries and executing data transformation checks.
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, maintaining precise quality documentation and release input.
Qualifications
Core Requirements & Testing Experience
DevOps & Agile Methodology: 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Agile, or Scrum environments testing web and mobile technologies across different operating systems and platforms.
Manual Testing Expertise: 5+ years of experience executing various manual testing types, including Systems Testing, Mobile Testing, AODA Accessibility Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Test Planning & Strategy: Solid experience creating comprehensive Test Strategy and Test Plan documents, along with detailed test coverage frameworks.
BRD & Test Data Analysis: 5+ years of hands-on experience analyzing Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), capturing technical needs, and formulating test data requirements.
Detailed Test Case Generation: Extensive experience writing, maintaining, and executing detailed test cases and scenarios inside enterprise management tools (such as HP ALM, Jira, Bugzilla, or Azure DevOps).
Defect Management & Triage: Proven ability to identify, document, and triage software bugs, leading triage meetings and authoring defect summary reports for dev and business stakeholders.
Technical & Tooling Capabilities
Automation Engineering: Hands-on experience creating automation suites, running iteration scripts, and evaluating automation results using tools like Selenium, OpenText™ UFT, TestComplete, or Postman.
