As a senior QA specialist, you will bridge the gap between software engineers, business analysts, and project managers throughout the entire Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Operating within a hybrid work model, you will establish comprehensive test plans, author detailed test cases, execute database validation queries, and manage end-to-end defect tracking using Azure DevOps. This position is ideal for an experienced QA authority who can ensure system performance, connectivity, error handling, and business readiness for mission-critical application platforms.

Assignment Type: Hybrid (2 days per week onsite at manager's discretion)

Responsibilities
Provide overarching testing strategy, define test plans, select appropriate testing tools, and estimate QA-related tasks in Azure DevOps.
Plan and organize comprehensive testing efforts for large systems across Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-GUI environments.
Execute functional, systems integration, connectivity, error handling, regression, and specialized non-functional tests (such as stress and performance testing).
Design, build, and execute detailed test cases and test scenarios based on business and system requirements.
Test RESTful web APIs and web services using Postman or equivalent API testing utilities.
Perform backend data validation and database integrity checks using SQL queries.
Lead end-to-end defect management by identifying, logging, isolating, tracking, and verifying software bugs to resolution.
Collaborate closely with software engineers and business analysts during design, development, implementation, and user acceptance testing (UAT) phases.
Support project teams with user acceptance testing coordination, technical troubleshooting, and operational readiness reviews.
Maintain clear technical documentation, test execution metrics, and quality summary reports for project stakeholders.
Qualifications
Core Technical & QA Requirements
Web Application Testing (.NET): 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience executing quality assurance and systems testing for web applications built on the .NET framework.
REST API Testing: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience testing RESTful APIs and web services using Postman or equivalent tooling.
Azure DevOps Test Management: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience designing test plans, managing test suites, and tracking defects in Azure DevOps Test Plans / TFS.
SQL & Database Verification: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience writing complex SQL queries to inspect databases and validate backend data states.
Test Strategy & SDLC: Proven experience authoring end-to-end test strategies, test cases, and managing defect triage across all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle.
Preferred Assets
Education: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
Accessibility Compliance: Knowledge and understanding of digital accessibility standards, including AODA and WCAG regulations.
Automation & Scripting: Working knowledge of automated testing tools or programming languages.
Public Sector Context: Prior experience working within enterprise public sector environments is preferred.
Soft Skills & Collaboration
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to explain complex technical findings clearly to diverse project teams.
Team Orientation: Strong collaborative mindset with proven ability to work effectively alongside developers, analysts, and project managers.
