As a senior QA specialist, you will bridge the gap between software developers, business analysts, and project leads throughout all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Operating within a hybrid work model (2 days per week onsite in Toronto or Guelph), you will validate functional and non-functional requirements across cloud-based Java technologies, RESTful APIs, JSON payloads, and HTML5 interfaces. This position demands a technical quality assurance authority with strong experience in test management platforms (Azure DevOps), API testing tools (Postman), digital accessibility (AODA) compliance, and defect tracking workflows to ensure high software quality, usability, and system reliability.

Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test summary reports.
Execute thorough functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing across Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall SDLC environments.
Validate business and technical requirements, support code debugging activities, and recommend usability enhancements for software applications.
Conduct specialized digital accessibility testing using automated tools to ensure strict compliance with AODA standards.
Perform API and web services testing for cloud-based Java applications using tools such as Postman to validate JSON payloads and system integrations.
Identify, document, track, isolate, and manage software defects through to resolution using defect tracking platforms like Azure DevOps.
Validate integrations involving RESTful APIs, geospatial services, mapping solutions, and backend database components.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary project teams—including developers, business analysts, and architects—to clarify requirements and ensure end-to-end quality coverage.
Adhere to strict privacy, security, and confidentiality policies, governance frameworks, and technical standards throughout the testing lifecycle.
Prepare clear testing documentation, test coverage metrics, and quality artifacts for project stakeholders and leadership.
Qualifications
Core Requirements & Testing Expertise
SDLC Testing Experience: Minimum 5+ years of dedicated experience performing quality assurance and testing activities across Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall SDLC environments.
Cloud & Web Technologies: Hands-on experience testing cloud-based applications built with Java technologies, JSON, RESTful Web Services, and HTML5.
Test Artifact Leadership: Proven expertise developing and executing end-to-end test strategies, test plans, test scripts, and test coverage reports.
Defect Management & QA Tooling: Strong experience using test management tools (Azure DevOps) and API testing utilities (Postman) for defect tracking and test execution.
Accessibility Compliance: Practical experience conducting digital accessibility testing in alignment with AODA standards and guidelines.
Governance & Security: Demonstrated understanding of privacy, security, and confidentiality compliance within large public sector or enterprise IT environments.
Preferred Technical Assets
