As a Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist, you will bridge the gap between software development engineering, DevOps pipelines, and quality assurance workflows. Operating within a hybrid work model in Toronto, you will design, build, and maintain robust automated test frameworks using Playwright to enable faster, more reliable validation of web applications, APIs, and integrated backend services. This position demands a technical QA authority with extensive experience in automated regression testing, API validation, and Azure DevOps defect management who can accelerate delivery timelines and support high-quality software releases.

Assignment Type: Hybrid (Up to 3 days per week onsite, subject to manager discretion)

Responsibilities
Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts.
Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and regression test suites using Playwright for UI and end-to-end testing.
Perform thorough functional, integration, system, end-to-end, and automated regression testing across web applications and backend interfaces.
Validate application functionality, RESTful APIs, data interchange payloads, and data integrity across multi-tiered integrated platforms.
Analyze complex business and technical requirements to design effective, automated test solutions and coverage models.
Identify, document, isolate, track, and validate software defects through resolution utilizing Azure DevOps.
Support release management activities, including post-deployment validation, smoke testing, and production cutover support.
Collaborate closely with development and DevOps teams to integrate Playwright automation into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Generate test execution metrics, quality status reports, technical documentation, and continuous improvement recommendations for leadership.
Provide ongoing technical mentoring, QA knowledge transfer, and testing artifact maintenance throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
Core Technical & QA Requirements
Quality Assurance Tenure: Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in software Quality Assurance, test strategy development, and SDLC testing execution.
Test Automation Mastery: Minimum 5+ years of dedicated experience designing and implementing automated testing solutions.
Playwright Expertise: Demonstrated, hands-on expertise building and maintaining automated UI and end-to-end test suites using Playwright.
DevOps & Defect Tracking: Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps for test case management, defect tracking, and release support.
API & System Integrations: Proven experience testing complex enterprise web applications, RESTful APIs, and integrated system interfaces.
Preferred Assets & Domain Experience
Cloud & DevOps Integration: Experience integrating automated test frameworks into CI/CD pipelines within cloud-hosted (Azure) environments.
Regulated Sector Context: Prior experience supporting healthcare, public sector, or highly regulated enterprise environments.
Soft Skills & Professional Attributes
