Responsibilities
- Lifecycle Planning & Refresh: Lead the coordination of software sunsetting and transition activities for operating systems and databases, including Windows, RHEL, and MS SQL Server.
- Technical Debt Mitigation: Lead data analysis and cluster engagement for Extended Security Update (ESU) and Extended Lifecycle Support (ELS) programs to minimize costs and maximize modernization.
- Financial Forecasting: Assist financial teams in developing software support cost projections and cost models as products move into extended support or as publishers change licensing fees.
- Executive Governance: Chair monthly client engagement calls and internal/external governance meetings. Produce high-level collateral and data-driven reporting for directors and senior management.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify and communicate risks related to end-of-support deadlines, specifically focusing on the July 2026 and January 2027 ESU milestones.
- Operational Documentation: Document all operational processes, key stakeholder contacts, and develop a comprehensive lifecycle health view for the software portfolio.
Qualifications
- Strategic Leadership: 10+ years of strategic planning and delivery experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Lifecycle Expertise: Demonstrated mastery in lifecycle planning for Windows, RHEL, and MS SQL Server, including hardware/software refresh activities.
- Analytical Depth: Proven experience in root cause analysis, structured problem solving, and technical debt identification.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a track record of providing authoritative presentations to executive stakeholders.
- Data-Driven Reporting: Experience translating business requirements into reporting needs, utilizing metrics and KPIs to influence technology roadmaps.
