Responsibilities
- Instructional Delivery: Lead hands-on training, interactive demonstrations, and e-learning sessions for paramedics and emergency service stakeholders across multiple locations.
- Strategy & Planning: Develop and document provincial training strategies and individualized plans for Communications Centres (CACCs) while managing complex project schedules.
- Content Development: Design and maintain high-quality training materials, integrating operational processes with vendor-specific technical documentation.
- Performance Evaluation: Assess and document participant performance, administer practical examinations, and provide recommendations for further remedial training or certification.
- Testing Support: Participate in provincial project testing, including network coverage and console-to-site testing.
- Leadership & Supervision: Provide technical direction and group leadership to students and resource staff, ensuring timelines and training standards are consistently met.
- Collaboration: Partner with project leads and management to report progress, identify requirements, and ensure training aligns with organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Training Expertise: 5+ years of experience as a Trainer, with a proven track record of delivering large-scale or province-wide training strategies.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong experience with Public Safety equipment, specifically Radio Networks (PSRN), telecom, and dispatch systems.
- Industry Background: Experience in 24x7 critical environments, such as Land Ambulance Dispatch, Paramedic services, or the Healthcare sector.
- Skills: Knowledge of Radio/Telephone systems, GIS, spatial concepts (mapping), and Automated Vehicle Locators (AVL).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills, with the ability to articulate technical messages to everyone from entry-level users to senior executives.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage complex schedules and meet deadlines within a large project team.
- Mobility: Valid Class G Driver’s License and the ability to travel frequently across Ontario for extended periods.
