Responsibilities
1. Discovery: Understanding the Problem
Facilitation: Lead project kick-offs to produce Business Model Canvases, Stakeholder Maps, and Problem Statements.
User Research: Design and execute interview scripts, topic maps, and synthesis reports to define user personas and "5 Whys."
Service Blueprinting: Create Technical Service Blueprints that map the entire service delivery process, including back-end support systems.
2. Alpha: Experimentation & Prototyping
Design Sprints: Optionally lead 5-day Design Sprints to answer critical business questions through rapid prototyping.
Prototyping: Build "clickable" high-fidelity prototypes to test multiple solution hypotheses.
Validation: Conduct usability testing sessions and iterate designs based on research findings to define the final vision for the Beta phase.
3. Beta: Building the MVP
Agile Integration: Participate in Scrum ceremonies (Stand-ups, Planning, Retrospectives) and manage the design backlog.
Iteration: Create and validate user stories, conduct sketching workshops, and refine designs based on ongoing user interviews.
Accessibility: Perform regular accessibility compliance testing (AODA/WCAG) within every iteration to ensure an inclusive product.
4. Live: Continuous Improvement
Evolution: Monitor live builds through usage analytics and user behavior patterns to measure KPIs.
Optimization: Continue regular usability testing and accessibility audits to refine the service post-launch.
Qualifications
Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience participating in complex, large-scale agile projects.
UX Mastery: Extensive expertise in mobile-first and responsive design best practices.
Tooling Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, InVision, Axure, and Zeplin.
Technical Plus: Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (React, Angular, or Node.js) is a significant asset.
Education: Degree or diploma in Graphic Design; certifications in Usability, HCI, or Technical Writing are highly preferred.
Research Skills: Proven ability to facilitate user research, interview synthesis, and usability testing to produce actionable findings reports.
Communication: Strong mediation and negotiation skills to align business teams, technical leads, and product owners.
