Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, onboard, and motivate team members to achieve departmental goals and uphold operational proficiency.
Warehouse Management: Oversee day-to-day receiving, shipping, inventory control, and distribution operations.
Performance & Quality: Track internal/external KPIs, manage service performance, and resolve operational irregularities using Corrective/Preventative Action (CAPA) processes.
Facility & Equipment Maintenance: Plan optimized layout designs, schedule equipment maintenance/repairs, and maintain a safe, orderly environment
Financial & Business Development
Financial Accountability: Manage annual budgets, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and ensure revenue and operating income targets are met.
Client Engagement & Business Growth: Meet with potential and existing clients to deliver custom solutions, negotiate distribution agreements, and create rate schedules.
Vendor Management: Validate vendors, evaluate performance, and negotiate service rates.
Safety, Compliance & Administration
Health & Safety: Enforce adherence to local, provincial, and federal safety regulations, health policies, and environmental standards.
Administrative Oversight: Oversee payroll time/attendance reporting and deliver timely weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reports
Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience & Knowledge
10+ years of progressive management experience in a Warehouse/Distribution environment.
Demonstrated experience developing SOPs and operational manuals.
Strong background in inventory control, physical counts, and system reconciliations.
Deep understanding of health and safety procedures, safety legislation, and WHMIS regulations
Technical & Functional Skills
Proficiency in MS Office, AS400, and Warehouse Operation Systems. Hands-on experience operating warehouse machinery (forklifts, cargo vans, pallet jacks). Strong mathematical, analytical, and budget management skills.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client relationship management abilities.
Education & Certifications
Post-Secondary Education.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
Valid Forklift Certification.
WHMIS Certification. Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate is a strong asset
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Based in a dynamic warehouse environment , with occasional business travel. Involves standing, walking, bending, lifting, and operating equipment.
Exposure to varying warehouse weather conditions, noise, and dangerous goods (DG).
