The Shipper Receiver is responsible for managing the complete cycle of materials, parts, and supplies within the manufacturing facility, from arrival through distribution.
Key duties include:
Receiving & Verification: Overseeing daily receiving, including loading and unloading materials from trucks. This involves verifying incoming shipments against the purchase order and packing slip, and confirming the condition of all goods.
Shipping: Accurately packaging, labeling, and weighing items for shipment, while determining the correct shipping method and applicable charges.
Inventory Management: Accepting deliveries and storing them correctly within the warehouse.
Support Tasks: Performing secondary duties such as assembly, picking/packing orders, and using scales.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintaining a daily log of all tasks performed.
Maintenance: Keeping the shipping work area clean and organized (e.g., breaking down boxes, disposing of garbage).
Training: Assisting in the training of new employees.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a fast-paced shipping and manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills & Requirements:
Experience: Proven background in manufacturing shipping operations.
Physical Ability: Ability to sustain a high level of physical activity for extended periods and capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. Safety boots are required.
Soft Skills: Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, personal accountability, integrity, excellent verbal communication, self-motivation, organization, and the ability to follow instructions.
Work Ethic: A proven record of punctuality and excellent attendance is mandatory.
Operational Knowledge: Strong knowledge of shipping functions, needs, and the ability to quickly problem-solve and prioritize daily tasks.
Preferred/Optional Assets:
Forklift: Experience operating a counterbalance forklift is preferred.
Education: A GED or equivalent training/experience is beneficial.
Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is preferred, though training may be provided.
Inventory: Knowledge and experience related to inventory within a manufacturing setting are preferred.
Other: The willingness to perform other assigned duties and be proactive is expected.
