Responsibilities
As the Shipper, your primary duties will revolve around the precise and timely preparation of outbound shipments. You will be a cornerstone of the shipping department, where your attention to detail and commitment to safety will directly impact the company's success. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Operating a counterbalance forklift, tow motor, and pallet jack with expertise and adherence to all safety protocols to move, load, and stage products for shipment.

Utilizing computer systems and specialized shipping software to prepare and process shipping documents, such as bills of lading, work orders, and shipping manifests.

Verifying the accuracy of outgoing shipments by comparing them against records, invoices, or customer orders to prevent discrepancies.

Carefully packaging, sealing, and labeling materials to ensure they are secure and correctly identified for transit.

Recording critical shipment data, including weight, dimensions, and charges, for record-keeping and reporting purposes.

Coordinating with other departments, including production and warehouse teams, to ensure a seamless workflow and on-time departures.

Conducting routine inspections of shipping equipment and reporting any maintenance needs to ensure operational readiness.

Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area within the shipping department, contributing to a culture of efficiency and safety.

Performing repetitive lifting of materials as required, demonstrating physical stamina and proper lifting techniques.

Contributing to the overall goals of the manufacturing & logistics team through proactive communication and a collaborative spirit.

Qualifications
To be considered for this premier Shipper opportunity in Brantford, candidates must meet the following qualifications. Your experience in the manufacturing & logistics sector is highly valued.

A minimum of two years of direct experience working in a Shipper or a similar shipping and receiving role.

At least one year of hands-on experience using computers and shipping software.

Demonstrated experience and proficiency in operating a counterbalance forklift.

A valid and current license to operate a pallet jack and tow motor is mandatory.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Ability to perform repetitive lifting and meet the physical demands of the job.
