As a Shipper, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks essential to the manufacturing & logistics operations. Your duties will include:
Preparing and verifying outgoing shipments, comparing identifying information and counts against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Operating a forklift and other material handling equipment to load and unload trucks and move materials within the facility.
Maintaining accurate inventory levels and records by utilizing the company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Assembling, packing, and labeling containers and crates for shipment, ensuring all products are secure and properly identified.
Determining the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods and routes.
Generating and processing all necessary shipping documentation, including packing slips and bills of lading.
Coordinating with carriers to schedule pick-ups and track shipments to ensure timely delivery.
Performing quality checks on outgoing products to ensure they meet company standards and are free from damage.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area in the shipping department, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Assisting with general labour duties and supporting other departments as needed to ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications
To be considered for this Shipper position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
A valid and current forklift license is mandatory.
A minimum of two years of direct experience in a shipping role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to consistently lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to reliably commute to the facility in Brantford, ON.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Strong understanding of shipping procedures and documentation.
