• Strong operational knowledge of shipping and receiving processes within a manufacturing & logistics environment.
• Proficiency in operating a forklift safely and efficiently, backed by a valid license.
• Experience with ERP systems and inventory management software for tracking and record-keeping.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all tasks, from data entry to shipment verification.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• The ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a cohesive team.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the shipping process.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external transport carriers.
• Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting objects up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities
As a Shipper, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks essential to the manufacturing & logistics operations. Your duties will include:
Preparing and verifying outgoing shipments, comparing identifying information and counts against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Operating a forklift and other material handling equipment to load and unload trucks and move materials within the facility.
Maintaining accurate inventory levels and records by utilizing the company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Assembling, packing, and labeling containers and crates for shipment, ensuring all products are secure and properly identified.
Determining the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods and routes.
Generating and processing all necessary shipping documentation, including packing slips and bills of lading.
Coordinating with carriers to schedule pick-ups and track shipments to ensure timely delivery.
Performing quality checks on outgoing products to ensure they meet company standards and are free from damage.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area in the shipping department, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Assisting with general labour duties and supporting other departments as needed to ensure operational efficiency.

Qualifications
To be considered for this Shipper position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
A valid and current forklift license is mandatory.
A minimum of two years of direct experience in a shipping role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to consistently lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to reliably commute to the facility in Brantford, ON.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Strong understanding of shipping procedures and documentation.
A commitment to safety and adherence to all workplace health and safety policies.
