As a Shipper, you will be the vital link between the manufacturing floor and the customer, managing the entire shipping process from start to finish. You will be responsible for preparing, packing, and documenting outgoing shipments, as well as operating a counterbalance forklift to move materials efficiently and safely. Responsibilities
• Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring all items are correctly identified and secured for transit.
• Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs forms, to ensure compliance.
• Operate a counterbalance forklift for approximately 20% of the time to load and unload trucks and move materials within the warehouse.
• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against invoices, manifests, or other records to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shipping and receiving area.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
• Track and trace shipments to provide status updates and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Conduct regular inventory counts of shipping materials and supplies.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including those related to forklift operation
Qualifications
Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proven ability to operate a counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and documentation.
• Basic computer proficiency for data entry and record-keeping.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
• Strong communication skills to interact with colleagues and drivers.
• Problem-solving skills to address and resolve shipping discrepancies.
