As a Shipping and Receiving Assistant, you will be an essential link in our client's daily operations. Working in a clean, modern metal manufacturing facility, you will support shipping & receiving by loading and unloading trailers and verifying incoming shipments against packing slips. You will also specialize in order fulfillment, carefully picking, sorting, and packaging metal parts for outgoing delivery, and ensuring inventory support by organizing warehouse stock and assisting with inventory counts. In this role, you will work closely with an expert production team to execute critical quality control checks, inspecting finished metal parts and packaging for defects before they leave the facility. It is a physical role that involves repetitive movement and lifting up to 50 lbs, keeping you active and engaged throughout your shift.

Responsibilities
• Perform daily shipping & receiving tasks, including safely loading and unloading trailers.
• Verify incoming shipments against packing slips, bills of lading, and purchase orders to ensure complete accuracy.
• Manage order fulfillment by picking, sorting, and securely packaging fabricated metal parts for outgoing deliveries.
• Provide robust inventory support by organizing stock within designated warehouse locations and assisting with scheduled inventory counts.
• Conduct meticulous quality control checks on finished metal parts and protective packaging to identify and report any defects.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in accordance with company safety standards and 5S protocols.
• Use hand trucks, carts, and other manual material handling equipment to move items efficiently across the shop floor.
Qualifications
• Prior experience in a shipping and receiving, warehouse helper, or material handler role is required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including continuous standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working 10-hour shifts on a Monday to Thursday schedule.
• Reliable transportation to the job location in Brantford, Ontario.
• Strong comprehension of safety protocols in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Steel-toed safety boots (CSA approved) are mandatory for this work environment.
• Strong attention to detail to verify documentation, part numbers, and shipping quantities.
• Solid organizational skills to optimize warehouse storage and track physical inventory.
• Excellent physical stamina and dexterity to handle repetitive physical tasks and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate seamlessly with shipping coordinators and machine operators.
• Basic mathematical skills for performing accurate inventory counts and tracking shipment quantities.
• Strong safety-first mindset to identify potential hazards and maintain clean workspaces.
