Our client, a reputable and locally-owned high-reach rental equipment company, is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to step up and lead their service team as a Shop Foreman. This is a key position designed for an adaptable, safety-minded leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in maintaining a productive, highly organized shop floor.
As the Shop Foreman, you will work closely with the Service Manager to optimize shop workflows, implement standard service processes, and foster a supportive, team-oriented work culture.
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Location: SE Calgary, AB
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Environment: Industrial / Equipment Rental Shop
Wage: $45.00 to $53.00 per hour (Based on experience and certification)

Responsibilities
What will you be doing?
Mentorship & Leadership: Build and manage an apprenticeship pathway by instructing, demonstrating repair techniques, and reviewing completed work orders.
Team Oversight: Conduct employee performance reviews, assign daily tasks, and establish clear roles to maintain shop cleanliness and safety.
Shop Layout & Tool Management: Work alongside the Service Manager to design an efficient shop floor plan and manage company tools and equipment inventory.
Process Implementation: Roll out digital software solutions for work order tracking, scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), and equipment repair schedules.
Work Flow Execution: Prioritize urgent field or shop repairs while managing competing operational deadlines calmly under pressure.
Qualifications
What are we looking for in a candidate?
Certification: Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic (HET) certification.
Experience: 4+ years of hands-on diagnostic and repair experience with high-reach or aerial equipment is a strong asset.
Leadership Skills: Proven track record of training and guiding apprentices in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Adaptability: Strong problem-solving abilities and comfort using digital shop management tools.
Requirements: Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
