If so, we’d like to meet you! Our client is a well-established structural steel manufacturing company in Calgary seeking a Shop Foreman to oversee day-to-day operations in their facility.
This is a leadership role where you’ll supervise iron workers, fitters, welders, and machinists, to ensure projects are completed to spec, and keep production moving safely and efficiently.
Position: Full-time, direct hire
Schedule: Monday to Friday, daytime hours (some flexibility to meet production needs)
Environment: Non-unionized fabrication/manufacturing facility
Salary: $75,000–$85,000/yr (based on experience)

Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead, train, and supervise shop staff (iron workers, fitters, welders, and machinists)
- Coordinate daily work orders, assign personnel, and monitor progress
- Ensure jobs are completed on time, within spec, and to quality standards
- Troubleshoot shop issues and provide technical guidance to the team
- Maintain safe work practices and enforce company safety policies
- Oversee equipment maintenance and shop readiness
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency and workflow
- Collaborate with management, engineering, and project teams on priorities and deadlines
Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years’ experience in a fabrication, machining, or manufacturing environment
- CWB certified MIG all positions is a strong asset
- CWB Inspector is a strong asset
- At least 3 years in a supervisory, foreman, or team lead role
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and shop documents
- Knowledge of metal fabrication processes, welding, or machining (asset)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar shop management tools
- Safety-focused, with a proven record of building strong team culture
