Responsibilities
Operat a Sit-Down Counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently to manage heavy LTL freight traffic on a fast-paced dock.
Load and unload diverse transport trailers, meticulously balancing and securing weight distribution for safe transit.
Prioritize daily shipments independently to consistently meet demanding dispatch and departure timelines.
Inspect incoming and outgoing freight to proactively detect, document, and report damages or discrepancies.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free dock environment, ensuring a seamless and safe handoff to the morning shift.
Qualifications
Certification: Must hold a valid Forklift Ticket/Certification.
Schedule: Requires availability for initial afternoon training before transitioning to a permanent night shift.
Experience: 1–2 years of hands-on experience operating a Sit-Down Counterbalance forklift.
Bonus Skills: Prior experience handling Less Than Truckload (LTL) freight is highly preferred.
Safety Gear: Must possess CSA-approved steel-toe boots and high-visibility safety wear.
