In this engineering-focused role, you will move far beyond basic operational support to act as a principal architect of automated cloud environments. You will assume end-to-end responsibility for the design, construction, automation, security configuration, and structural lifecycle support of enterprise Azure infrastructure and Databricks platforms. This position is ideal for a hands-on technical expert who pairs an absolute command of Azure IaaS with advanced Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripting skills, enabling cross-functional squads to provision highly available, secure, and resilient data runtimes at scale.
Duration: 1-Year Contract (with high viability for extension and permanent conversion)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (4 days per week on-site at the corporate office hub, 1 day work from home)
Advantages
High Extension & Conversion Potential: Establish a long-term career path within a world-class enterprise with a clear roadmap for consecutive contract renewals or permanent conversion.
True Engineering-First Mandate: Avoid repetitive maintenance tickets—spend your time treating infrastructure as software, designing automated build frameworks, and building scalable developer workspaces.
Modern Cloud-Data Analytics Sandbox: Expand your professional profile by architecting high-throughput processing environments leveraging Azure Databricks workspaces and cloud-native integration tools.
Strategic Collaboration & Autonomy: Work inside an environment that champions technical ownership, offering you the mandate to partner across Security, Architecture, and DevOps lines to shape corporate deployment templates.
Responsibilities
Cloud Platform Design & Core Administration
Ground-Up Azure Architecture: Design, build, and deploy production-grade enterprise Azure cloud infrastructure environments supporting both Windows and Linux operating systems from scratch.
Environment Tiering: Erect fully segregated, highly resilient cloud landing zones across Development, QA, Production, and Disaster Recovery (DR) environments.
Databricks Workspaces Governance: Deploy, configure, secure, and support enterprise Azure Databricks workspaces and supporting automated platform services.
Full-Stack IaaS Administration: Administer Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Service, Storage, Cloud Networking, Monitoring telemetry, Backups, and failover Disaster Recovery solutions.
Security & Triage: Implement robust cloud security controls, governance policies, and compliance standards, while driving root-cause analysis for complex infrastructure and performance bottlenecks.
DevOps, Automation & Platform Engineering
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain scalable, versioned IaC solutions utilizing Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, or Bicep.
Pipeline Automation: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure deployments, software configuration management, and major platform upgrades.
Lifecycle Scripting: Write clean, modular PowerShell and Python scripts to automate routine provisioning, system patching, continuous compliance validation, and automated DR simulation testing.
Source-Control Stewardship: Maintain and structure source-controlled deployment artifacts and infrastructure code bases using Git-based workflows.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate daily with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, DevOps, and Application Architecture teams to deliver automated, self-service platform tools.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 7+ years of progressive professional experience specializing in infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, or platform engineering within enterprise environments.
Azure Mastery: Proven track record of building and managing complex enterprise Microsoft Azure environments from the ground up.
DevOps Ecosystem Maturity: Extensive experience working inside mature DevOps organizations with a heavy emphasis on infrastructure automation, Git-based workflows, and automated release practices.
Automation Automation & Scripting: Strong, independent capability to author deployment scripts using PowerShell and Python.
Modern Deployment Tooling: Deep technical familiarity with automated platform provisioning tools, specifically including Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, or similar deployment technologies.
CI/CD pipeline Fluency: Hands-on experience engineering continuous integration and deployment pipelines using cloud toolsets (such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins).
Soft Skills: Exceptional technical troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills; a structured professional who can collaborate fluently with multi-disciplinary squads and translate architecture blueprints into crisp operational runbooks.
Summary
If you are a tech-savvy Site Reliability Specialist who pairs an absolute command of Azure cloud infrastructure and Databricks workspaces with the automation depth (Terraform, PowerShell, Python) required to treat infrastructure entirely as code, this 1-year hybrid contract is an exceptional professional platform. Bring your system optimization precision, pipeline discipline, and collaborative delivery style to our client's growing cloud engineering team today!
