This full-time position offers competitive compensation ranging from $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on your prior hands-on experience. Candidates can choose between two convenient Monday-to-Friday work schedules: a day shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or an afternoon shift from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, providing regular full-time hours and excellent schedule predictability.
In this role, the Skilled General Labourer will perform a variety of essential production tasks key to metal manufacturing & logistics operations. You will be actively involved in operating specialized machinery, including brake press machines, CNC equipment, and punch press machines. Everyday responsibilities include loading and unloading metal components, performing basic quality checks, and assisting lead machine operators across the production floor. Candidates with prior machine operating background in metal manufacturing & logistics settings will excel in this environment. While external forklift (FL) licenses are preferred, candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and machine operation experience are encouraged to apply.
Clear communication and strong English language skills (both spoken and written) are required for this position to ensure complete alignment with health and safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and team collaboration on the facility floor. Responsibilities
Safely operate specialized fabrication machinery, including brake press machines, CNC units, and punch press machines within a metal manufacturing facility.
• Perform physical material handling tasks, such as loading metal sheets into machinery and unloading finished fabricated components.
• Perform routine quality control inspections on processed metal parts using standard measuring tools to ensure customer specifications are met.
• Support shop floor manufacturing & logistics operations by keeping work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
• Operate external forklift equipment safely to move raw metal stock and completed products across the facility (if certified).
• Collaborate closely with shop supervisors and team members to meet daily production targets efficiently and safely.
Qualifications
Direct experience working as a Skilled General Labourer or Machine Operator in metal manufacturing & logistics.
• Hands-on familiarity operating machinery such as brake presses, CNC equipment, or punch presses.
• External forklift (FL) license is strongly preferred, though not strictly required.
• Ability to work Monday to Friday on your designated shift without schedule conflicts.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety protocols and active teamwork.
Practical experience operating brake press, CNC, or punch press machinery in a metal manufacturing setting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency using basic hand tools, measuring devices, and industrial equipment.
• Effective English verbal and written communication skills to follow safety guidelines and technical instructions.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs and standing throughout full shifts.
• Sharp attention to detail, quality focus, and strong troubleshooting capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
