Responsibilities
API Design & Microservices Engineering: Architect, build, and maintain clean, scalable, and secure RESTful APIs and decoupled microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
Enterprise Integration & Legacy Middleware: Implement complex integration patterns using Spring Integration to route, transform, and connect cloud microservices with core legacy and mainframe systems.
Event-Driven Architecture & Messaging: Design and manage event-driven messaging solutions utilizing Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Hub, AMQP, and JMS protocols.
Security & Authentication Governance: Implement enterprise security frameworks and protocols, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, JWT, and OWASP security guidelines.
Containerization & Orchestration: Package, deploy, and manage containerized microservices across cloud platforms such as Azure, OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Database Optimization & Automated Testing: Design relational database schemas (SQL Server, Oracle) and write comprehensive automated unit and integration test suites using JUnit, Mockito, or Test Containers.
Performance Tuning & Operational Visibility: Profile, monitor, and optimize API throughput and response times while integrating logging frameworks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
Technical Documentation & Mentorship: Author API specs, deployment guides, and system runbooks while conducting peer code reviews and mentoring junior engineering personnel.
Qualifications
REST API & Spring Boot Mastery: Extensive, hands-on experience in REST API design, documentation, testing, and microservices development using Java and Spring Boot (Strictly Required).
Integration Patterns & Mainframe Connectivity: In-depth knowledge of integration patterns using Spring Integration, including experience integrating with legacy mainframe or IMS systems (Strictly Required).
Messaging & Event-Driven Architecture: Proven experience with message-oriented middleware, event-driven architectures, and messaging platforms such as Azure Service Bus (Strictly Required).
Containerized Environments: Hands-on experience building and deploying applications within containerized ecosystems (Azure, OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes) (Strictly Required).
Web Security Frameworks: Deep practical experience implementing web security standards, including OAuth, OpenID, SAML 2.0, and encryption practices (Strictly Required).
Nice-to-Have Assets:
Familiarity with container orchestration management using Helm charts.
