Responsibilities
Enterprise Data Design: Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for scalable enterprise data solutions.
Cloud Platform Optimization: Create and optimize scalable data models within the Snowflake Cloud Data Platform, applying best practices in clustering, partitioning, and storage design to maximize query performance.
Dimensional & Normalized Modeling: Develop dimensional models—including star schemas, snowflake schemas, and normalized 3NF models—to support business analytics and operational reporting.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business stakeholders, Data Architects, Data Engineers, and BI teams to capture requirements and translate them into robust data structures.
Domain Data Marts: Support the architecture and design of enterprise data marts across finance, customer, underwriting, claims, and operational domains.
Pipeline & Governance Alignment: Collaborate with Data Engineering teams on ETL/ELT pipelines while ensuring compliance with data governance, security, privacy, and quality standards.
Metadata & Lineage Management: Maintain comprehensive metadata, business glossaries, data lineage, and detailed data dictionaries.
Agile & Architecture Delivery: Participate in Agile ceremonies, perform impact assessments for data model changes, participate in architecture reviews, and mentor junior team members.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
Core Experience: 7+ years of experience in enterprise data modeling, data warehouse design, and modern data architecture.
Snowflake Expertise: 3+ years of direct, hands-on experience designing and optimizing models within the Snowflake Cloud Data Platform.
Data Modeling Mastery: Deep technical proficiency in Conceptual, Logical, and Physical modeling, Dimensional Modeling (Star Schema/Snowflake Schema), and Third Normal Form (3NF).
Advanced Technical Skills:
- Advanced SQL proficiency and query performance optimization.
- Strong experience with cloud ecosystems, primarily Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Hands-on familiarity with business intelligence and reporting platforms, particularly Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience with ETL/ELT integration tools (e.g., dbt, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Matillion, or Talend).
- Hands-on skill with enterprise modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, or Lucidchart.
Methodology: Proven background working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
