In this client-embedded advisory role, you will provide expert-level technical support, troubleshooting, and strategic guidance across a complex enterprise network infrastructure. The existing environment encompasses a diverse mix of enterprise routing, switching, wireless, and SD-WAN solutions. You must be a true infrastructure generalist with deep hands-on execution skills and the communication acuity required to mentor internal teams.
Engagement Type: Contract (3 Months Initial Term, with strong potential for extension)
Hours: 40 hours per week (Must be available for off-hours and weekend maintenance windows as operational needs require)
Location: Hybrid (3 days per week on-site at client premises in Winnipeg, MB, with travel within the province as required)

Responsibilities
Tier-3 Ticket Ownership: Serve as the senior technical resource embedded within the IT team, taking full ownership of escalated infrastructure tickets related to wired switching, wireless networking, and SD-WAN.
Multi-Platform Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex network anomalies across mixed HPE/Aruba and Cisco wired/wireless environments, including cloud-managed infrastructure portfolios.
Identity & Access Management: Administer and support enterprise AAA and identity-based access control platforms (Cisco ISE); configure security policies, profile devices, and resolve complex authentication/authorization issues.
SD-WAN Management: Support and manage the Silver Peak (HPE Aruba EdgeConnect) SD-WAN infrastructure, handling performance monitoring, path policy optimization, and incident resolution.
Documentation & Topology: Produce and maintain comprehensive technical records, including network topology diagrams, runbooks, configuration baselines, and post-incident root-cause reports.
Knowledge Transfer: Lead internal teams through critical incident troubleshooting, providing active mentorship to help build long-term internal capacity.
Strategic Advisory: Advise management on configuration hardening, infrastructure design defects, and strategic scaling considerations for future network expansion.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 8+ years of hands-on enterprise networking experience demonstrating comprehensive depth across both Cisco and HPE/Aruba ecosystems.
Mandatory Certification: Must hold at least one active, professional-level network validation credential—such as a CCNP or equivalent HPE/Aruba certification (ACCP / ACMP).
Wired & Wireless Core: Proven expertise in enterprise switching platforms (e.g., Cisco Catalyst/Nexus, HPE/Aruba) and wireless infrastructure deployment, cloud infrastructure orchestration (Aruba Central), and RF policy management.
Security & SD-WAN Skills: Direct, hands-on experience configuring and maintaining Cisco ISE (posture, profiling) and Silver Peak SD-WAN orchestrators.
Local Logistics: Must be based in Winnipeg, MB, with a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle access for occasional provincial travel.
Clearance: Must possess or be willing to immediately obtain a provincial police background clearance prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have):
CCIE certification (any track) is a massive asset and will be heavily weighted.
Security-focused accreditations such as a CISSP or PCNSE.
Prior IT infrastructure delivery experience within healthcare, provincial government, or crown corporations.
Familiarity with wireless site survey software (e.g., Ekahau, AirMagnet).
Experience with network automation and monitoring tooling (Ansible, SolarWinds, PRTG).
