Responsibilities
Manage the full-cycle accounting function for the Toronto location, the organization’s highest-volume site
Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, adjustments, and corrections
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other balance sheet items
Manage light AP/AR responsibilities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of entries
Lead the month-end close process for the site, ensuring all revenue and expenses are properly recorded
Maintain and update Excel-based financial reporting decks used by senior leadership
Partner with location managers and non-finance teams to explain results, answer questions, and resolve discrepancies
Proactively follow up on missing documentation and ensure all financial cutoffs are met
Support internal audits, reporting improvements, and other finance-related projects as needed
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
3–5+ years of hands-on accounting experience in a full-cycle capacity
Strong understanding of GAAP and monthly reporting requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP, etc.)
Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central / Navision considered an asset)
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills
Comfortable communicating with non-financial stakeholders and answering questions about accounting data
Experience in multi-location businesses or operationally complex environments is an asset
