- Execute fitting tasks for custom steel components (approximately 75% of the role), ensuring precise alignment and measurement.
- Perform high-quality MIG welding on steel materials as required (approximately 25% of the role).
- Interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints to execute unique, custom fabrication projects.
- Employ strong welding mathematics and calculations to accurately measure, cut, and fit parts.
- Maintain an organized and safe work area while performing duties as a Steel Fitter/MIG Welder.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in a Fitter/Welder role where fitting was the primary function (over 50% of duties).
- Exceptional ability to read and accurately interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints for custom steel work.
- Expertise in MIG welding on steel materials.
- Proficiency in using and accurately reading a tape measure in both metric and imperial measurements, including rapid conversions.
- Willingness to obtain the client's internal W47.1 company-specific weld ticket upon hire.
- Demonstrated dependability, strong teamwork ethic, and coachability to integrate seamlessly into a growing team in St. Jacobs, North of Kitchener.
