Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility is performing STICK welding, with additional tasks including MIG and Flux-core welding on mild steel and some stainless steel.
- Travel daily from the company site in Waterloo to various project locations across the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge area.
- Execute roof reinforcements and other structural steel installations for the condominium market.
- Install industrial railings and structural components for Conestoga College.
- Perform shop fabrication as well as essential non-welding tasks, such as buffing, grinding, and securing railings and structures using bolts and various fasteners.
- Work collaboratively within a small, dedicated team of three, led by an experienced fabricator.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience specifically with STICK welding in a structural steel environment.
- Fitting experience at a structural steel construction site or custom fabrication shop is a strict requirement.
- Experience with Flux-core and MIG welding is considered an asset
- Have strong blueprint reading skills and proficiency operating shop equipment like cutters, grinders, and drills.
- A valid Ontario Class G Driver's License and access to a reliable personal vehicle are must-haves for traveling to job sites.
