Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Workflow Management: Direct daily assignments for Sample Prep Technicians to ensure all turnaround time (TAT) targets are met without compromising accuracy.
Quality Control: Enforce strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to eliminate cross-contamination and safeguard data integrity.
Operational Support: Work alongside the team to operate crushing, pulverizing, and screening equipment, particularly during peak volume periods.
Safety Leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact for safety compliance, specifically regarding PPE usage and dust control protocols (Silica and Lead safety).
Training & Onboarding: Facilitate the training of junior staff on specialized lab equipment and the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Maintenance: Conduct daily inspections of preparation equipment and proactively report mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
Requirements and Qualifications
Experience & Education
2 to 3 years of experience in a commercial laboratory or a high-volume industrial production environment.
High School Diploma required; a College Diploma in Science, Mining, or a related field is considered a strong asset.
Physical Requirements
Capability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual labor for the duration of a shift.
Technical & Leadership Skills
Proven ability to lead a small crew in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to precision.
Functional computer literacy for data entry and workflow tracking.
