Pay Rate: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour (commensurate with experience).
Role Type: Junior Leadership / Working Lead (70% hands-on, 30% coordination)
Responsibilities
Workflow Coordination: Manage daily priorities to meet turnaround time (TAT) targets; ensure the team stays on track during high-volume periods.
Quality Assurance: Enforce strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to prevent sample cross-contamination and ensure data integrity.
Technical Operations: Operate heavy-duty crushing, pulverizing, and screening equipment alongside the crew.
Safety & Compliance: Act as a safety lead by enforcing PPE usage and managing dust control protocols (Silica/Lead safety).
Staff Development: Onboard and train junior technicians on lab equipment and LIMS (Lab Information Management System) data entry.
Equipment Care: Perform routine inspections of prep machinery and escalate mechanical issues to maintenance.
Qualifications
Proven Experience: 2–3 years in a commercial laboratory, mining, or industrial production environment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/move for extended periods in an industrial setting.
Leadership Ability: Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate a small crew under pressure.
Technical Literacy: Basic computer skills required for LIMS entry and production tracking.
Education: High School Diploma required; a College Diploma in Science or Mining is considered a strong asset.
