We are seeking a Supply Chain Planner for a short term contract (1-2 month) engagement with a major retail goods manufacturing client of ours. Supply Planner is responsible for ensuring supply availability of all Finished Goods and components, for new product introduction through product phase out. Responsibilities
-Maintain and optimize the Supply Plan, translating Finished Goods demand into component purchases and co-manufacturer production orders. Ensure timely delivery, healthy inventory levels, and alignment with sales goals while minimizing exposure.
-Develop, present, and secure executive approval for monthly buy plans, supporting Finance and Procurement with spend projections and cost-reduction strategies to protect cash flow.
-Lead seasonal and promotional planning, especially Q4 holiday execution, through weekly cross-functional meetings to escalate risks and drive timely resolutions.
-Manage in-house production scheduling and capacity planning, balancing constraints and priorities. Collaborate with Operations to adjust production, reserve supply, and respond to demand shifts.
-Coordinate with Product, Sourcing, and Co-manufacturing to ensure successful New Product Launches, monitor demand changes, mitigate risks, and manage end-of-life inventory exposure.
-Execute phase-in/phase-out strategies in partnership with Demand and Product teams to minimize liability and write-offs.
-Identify and communicate supply disruptions, working cross-functionally to resolve issues and maintain continuity.
-Conduct root cause analysis of stockouts, delays, and overstock situations, proposing improvements to reduce exposure and maximize revenue.
-Evaluate strategic sales opportunities against forecasted demand, highlighting risks related to material availability and production capacity.
-Maintain supply planning reports, support KPI tracking, and provide operational data to inform decision-making.
-Plan material purchases and reorder points in collaboration with Demand Planning, ensuring alignment with forecasts.
-Understand BOM and SKU-level data, supporting master data accuracy and planning integrity.
-Support and enhance demand/supply planning tools, contributing to usability improvements and continuous process optimization.
Qualifications
-3-5 years of experience in supply planning, inventory management, or production planning within a fast-paced, consumer goods or manufacturing environment.
-Proven ability to translate demand forecasts into actionable supply and production plans, balancing inventory health and delivery timelines.
-Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including BOM structures, SKU-level data, and master data management.
-Demonstrated success in seasonal and promotional planning, including leading cross-functional execution and risk mitigation strategies.
-Advanced level Excel skills (pivot tables, modeling, etc.)
-Experience with New Product Launches, phase-in/phase-out planning, and managing end-of-life inventory exposure.
-Skilled in capacity planning and production scheduling, with the ability to prioritize and adapt to shifting business needs.
-Analytical mindset with experience in root cause analysis of supply issues and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
-Ability to evaluate strategic sales opportunities against supply constraints and communicate risks effectively.
-Proficiency in supply planning tools and software, with a track record of driving usability improvements and process optimization.
-Strong collaboration skills across Product, Marketing, Demand Planning, Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams.
-Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience securing executive alignment on planning strategies.
-Comfortable working with KPIs and operational reporting to support data-driven decision-making.
