As a SWISS CNC Machinist / Programmer, you will be in charge setup and programming for two STAR SWISS CNC Lathes (5- and 6-axis) as well as several other CNC machines on Fanuc Controls and MasterCAM Software. The production cycle for the machines is two to three weeks. The role involves leading and training 3-4 machine operators. The shop is a unionized environment with pay for the SWISS CNC Machinist/Programmer position starting at $38.18 and increasing every 3-months for a year until it reaches $42.42/hr.
Currently there is only a day shift (7am-3pm) option running Monday-Friday. However, there is high-potential for an afternoon shift (3pm-11pm) later on, the afternoon shift will be rewarded by a 4% shift premium. In the future there is also potential for a night shift (11pm-7am) with an even higher shift premium.

Responsibilities
- Create MasterCAM programs for a 5-axis CNC Swiss lathe and a 6-Axis CNC Swiss lathe
- Set-up and perform tool changes for a 5-axis CNC Swiss lathe and a 6-Axis CNC Swiss lathe
- Set-up and program various other machines on Fanuc Controls and MasterCAM software
- Manage 2-3 week long production cycles
- Train and assist a team of 3-4 Machine operators
- Manufacture nuclear components while holding tolerances down to +/- 0.0005"
- Completion of shop documentation as required.
Qualifications
- Live near or relocate to Arnprior, ON
- Experience with Fanuc Controls
- Minimum 3 years performing Set-ups on a 5- or 6-Axis CNC Swiss lathe
- Minimum 3 years of experience programming 5- or 6-Axis CNC Swiss lathes in MasterCAM
- Minimum 8 years of experience machining with high tolerances of +/-0.0005" or tighter
- Effective communication and teamwork skills are an asset because you will be managing a team of machine operators during production runs
- Applicants must have a minimum of Grade 12 education.
