You will be responsible for managing Cisco UCS (M7/M8, Intersight-managed), Dell, and HP server platforms across both standalone and clustered Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems. As bare metal provisioning and day-2 operations automation are actively being developed, you will take full ownership of extending and maintaining these automated workflows using Ansible, building custom playbooks, and managing fabric interconnect configurations, VLANs/VSANs, and service profiles.
Duration: 12-Month Contract (with potential for extension or permanent conversion)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Currently 2 days per week on-site at the corporate office, with potential to increase up to 4 days as per organizational policy)
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Core Business Hours)
Advantages
High-Impact Automation Leadership: Take direct ownership of enterprise bare metal automation strategies, expanding Ansible playbook coverage across Cisco, Dell, and HP hardware platforms.
Modern Server Sandbox: Work with state-of-the-art enterprise compute platforms, including Cisco UCS M7/M8 managed via Cisco Intersight.
Substantial Contract Duration: Secure a full 1-year consulting engagement with strong potential for extension or permanent conversion within a top-tier financial organization.
L3 Enterprise Scope: Serve as the senior technical escalation lead for high-performance, clustered infrastructure powering critical enterprise applications.
Responsibilities
Hardware Lifecycle & Fabric Architecture
Enterprise Hardware Ownership: Own the architecture, configuration, and end-to-end lifecycle management for Cisco UCS M7/M8 (Intersight), Dell, and HP server platforms.
Service Profile & Fabric Engineering: Design and build Cisco UCS service profiles, server pools, and Fabric Interconnect configurations (VLANs/VSANs) for both standalone and clustered host provisioning.
Storage & SAN Alignment: Coordinate with SAN engineering teams to configure host-side storage connectivity and WWPN zoning within UCS service profiles for bare metal builds.
Automation, Escalation & Maintenance
Bare Metal Automation: Take ownership of bare metal automation workflows; design, build, and maintain Ansible playbooks to automate UCS provisioning and day-2 operational tasks, extending coverage to Dell and HP environments.
L3 Technical Escalation: Act as the primary L3 escalation point for UCS platform issues impacting Windows and RHEL standalone and clustered operating systems.
Lifecycle & Patch Management: Define firmware and patching requirements for Cisco Fabric Interconnects and UCS servers; collaborate with execution teams to coordinate patching windows.
Workflow Optimization: Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across automated and manual provisioning workflows, maintaining alignment with broader enterprise automation standards.
Qualifications
Infrastructure & Server Hardware Depth: Proven experience managing Cisco UCS hardware (M7/M8, Cisco Intersight), alongside Dell and HP enterprise server platforms in a large corporate environment.
Bare Metal Automation Mastery: Strong, hands-on experience building and maintaining Ansible playbooks for bare metal provisioning, configuration management, and operational automation.
Fabric Interconnect & Networking: Practical experience designing and configuring Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnects, VLANs, VSANs, and storage connectivity.
OS & Clustering Knowledge: Deep familiarity with host-side infrastructure supporting both Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) in standalone and enterprise clustered environments.
Troubleshooting & Escalation: Proven track record acting as an L3 escalation resource for complex compute, firmware, and provisioning issues.
Soft Skills: Strong collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively alongside Linux, Windows, SAN, and automation engineering teams in a regulated environment.
