Responsibilities
Piping Layout & Fit-Up: Read and interpret detailed Piping Isometric (ISO) drawings to perform complete layout and fit-up tasks with minimal supervision, assembling process piping in accordance with fabrication drawings and company quality standards.
Technical Calculations: Accurately calculate, layout, and fit complex rolling offsets, 45-degree offsets, and compound offsets.
Component Assembly: Measure, mark, and lay out pipe, fittings, flanges, and structural supports while verifying all dimensions, orientations, elevations, and nozzle locations prior to welding.
Material & Flange Management: Handle and fit carbon steel and stainless steel materials, utilizing flange management practices to prevent damage and identifying/resolving fit-up issues within drawing tolerances.
Precision Preparation: Utilize precision measuring tools such as tape measures, levels, squares, and angle finders, maintaining a strict knowledge of weld gaps, bevel preparation, and root openings.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with welders, QC inspectors, and shop supervision to ensure all fabrication meets exact project specifications while maintaining a clean, safe workspace.
Qualifications
Experience & Environment: Proven experience as a Bench Fitter or Pipefitter, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked on process modules, compressor packages, pressure vessels, and oil and gas fabrication environments.
Credentials: Welcoming both Journeyman Pipefitters ($51.00/hour with differential) and experienced, non-ticketed Bench Fitters/Pipefitters ($43.00 to $47.00/hour depending on exact experience and differential).
Technical Skill Set: Demonstrated ability to perform complex calculations and fit-ups completely independently directly from ISO drawings.
Transit & Access: A reliable personal vehicle is mandatory, as the facility is located in Rocky View County and is not accessible by public transit.
