Responsibilities
As a Technical Analyst, your role will include:
- Participating directly in a large-scale network implementation project, or providing backfill support for internal network services staff.
- Preparing and contributing to key documentation: Business Requirements, Master Test Plans, Test Completion Reports, etc.
- Creating Bill of Materials and obtaining vendor quotes for WAN circuits, cabling, racks, and other hardware.
- Racking, configuring, and activating switches at various field locations.
- Performing network testing, verifying end-to-end connectivity, and resolving issues.
- Traveling to multiple field sites across Toronto and working on-site as required.
- Supporting after-hours and weekend work during go-live or critical implementation phases.
Qualifications
1. Post-secondary education in Network Engineering, Data Communication or Computer Sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and/or related experience.
2. Certification and designation related to Networking technology/Cisco Networking
3. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
4. Knowledge of networks, network operating systems, network devices, network design principles, network analysis and telecommunication principles.
5. Good overall understanding of OSPF, BGP, MP-BGP, and MPLS/VPLS.
6. Technical experience with Networking technology/Cisco networking
7. Good overall understanding of structured network cabling standards and design.
8. Excellent problem determination and resolution skills
9. Demonstrated ability to work effectively on multiple tasks and projects under high service demands and time constraints
10. Effective written and verbal communication and customer service skills
11. Familiarity with technical documentation
12. Valid Province of Ontario Class G driver's licence.
