Are you a dynamic sales professional or experienced HVAC technician who thrives on building strong consultative relationships while driving business growth? We are seeking a dedicated Territory Manager to lead, manage, and expand a major account base across the Calgary region for a premier wholesale distributor in the HVAC industry.
...
As a Territory Manager within our sales & marketing group, you will play a critical role in partnering with mechanical contractors, commercial clients, and trade professionals. Operating out of the South Calgary branch, you will serve as a trusted advisor and technical expert rather than just a traditional salesperson. Your focus will be on driving revenue growth by maintaining active consultation with established HVAC accounts while strategically prospecting to expand market share across the region.
This hybrid role offers an exciting combination of hands-on client interaction and strategic planning, spending approximately 60% of your time on the road meeting contractors and 40% collaborating with branch staff, inside sales representatives, and business development personnel. You will work closely with cross-functional branch operations to deliver end-to-end technical solutions, seamless order fulfillment, and top-tier product support.
If you are driven by high energy, hold strong technical aptitude in refrigeration and HVAC systems, and enjoy a client-centric consultative sales approach, this Territory Manager opportunity allows you to accelerate your career while delivering real value to the local construction and building climate industry.
Skills
• Proven B2B sales expertise, consultative selling techniques, and pipeline management capability within a sales & marketing framework.
• Strong technical mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of HVAC, refrigeration, heating, and cooling equipment systems.
• Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills to engage contractors, mechanical engineers, and trade specialists effectively on-site.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the capability to explain technical product specifications clearly.
• Proactive problem-solving abilities and a strong self-starter work ethic tailored for flexible field travel.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate productively with internal branch sales and customer service teams.
Advantages
• Competitive base salary ranging from $85,000 to $105,000 annually based on experience.
• Performance incentive program with a target bonus of 20% to 30% and potential payouts up to 120% of target.
• Generous car allowance paired with a comprehensive fuel card for field travel.
• Robust 100% employer-paid health, dental, and extended coverage benefits for you and your dependents.
• Generous paid time off package including 3 weeks (15 days) vacation, 5 paid sick days, and 3 personal obligation days.
• Group RSP program with direct employer matching contributions to support long-term financial goals.
• Access to dedicated internal industry training programs plus up to $3,500 in annual tuition reimbursement for external professional development.
• Dedicated daytime entertainment budget provided for client coffees, lunches, and networking meetings.
• Flexible hybrid work schedule (2 days WFH / 3 days office & road) with flexible daily operational hours.
Responsibilities
• Manage and nurture a substantial existing portfolio of HVAC and refrigeration contractor accounts across the Calgary region to maximize revenue growth and client satisfaction.
• Execute strategic prospecting initiatives to hunt for new market share and establish relationships with prospective HVAC, mechanical, and refrigeration contractors.
• Act as a technical consultant to key clients by offering in-depth product knowledge, troubleshooting insights, and custom equipment solutions.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams including inside sales, business development representatives, and branch operations to ensure seamless project delivery and order resolution.
• Plan and conduct regular on-site field visits, product demonstrations, and client meetings across the territory (60% field travel, 40% office/home hybrid).
• Identify opportunities to introduce innovative heating, cooling, and ventilation products to commercial and residential contractors.
• Monitor local HVAC market trends, competitor activity, and trade demands to adjust sales strategies and maintain high market penetration.
• Utilize company CRM and account planning tools to track customer touchpoints, sales pipelines, and key account activity.
