Our client is looking for a Test Lead for a 12 month contract in Toronto.
This is an onsite role.

Responsibilities
• Test Strategy & Governance:
Develop and own in collaboration with the lead from the business transformation partner an end-to-end test strategy for the program, including scope definition, methodology, test phases, entry/exit criteria, and governance processes aligned with program delivery standards.
• Test Planning & Coordination:
Establish and manage a master testing plan across all workstreams (functional, technical, integration, performance, and user acceptance) for each release.
Create and manage testing schedules, resource plans and communications for each testing cycle.
Ensure test cycles are aligned to release timelines and program milestones.
• Testing Execution Oversight:
Oversee and coordinate all testing activities including SIT (System Integration Testing), Automation Testing, End to End Testing, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), Regression Testing, and Performance Testing.
Ensure timely execution and defect resolution.
• Defect & Quality Management:
Implement and enforce defect management processes and tools to track, triage, prioritize, and resolve defects.
Provide transparency to leadership through clear reporting on defect trends, root causes, and quality metrics.
• Environment & Data Readiness:
Partner with Technical and Data teams to ensure test environments, data sets, and test scripts are available, validated, and refreshed for each testing cycle.
• Testing Resource Management:
Create capacity plans for testing by release.
Manage and Coach Testing Leads and Testing Resources
Collaborate with the Business and IT Functional Leads to manage their business and IT testers during UAT.
• Vendor & Partner Coordination:
Lead collaboration across internal teams, system integrators, and third-party vendors to ensure testing activities are synchronized and quality standards are consistently applied.
• Business Readiness & UAT Enablement:
Support the transformation partner and business teams in scoping, creating, and selecting test cases, preparing test data, and executing UAT.
Ensure business users are ready, engaged, and confident in the solution and testing tools and processes prior to test execution.
• Risk, Issue & Dependency (RAID) Management:
Proactively identify quality risks, manage test-related dependencies, and ensure early issue escalation with mitigation plans to maintain testing integrity.
• Metrics & Reporting:
Deliver structured test progress reports, defect dashboards, and quality KPIs to Program Leadership and Steering Committees to support test cycle Entry/Exit decision-making.
• Continuous Improvement:
Drive improvements in test automation, defect prevention, and process maturity across releases and workstreams.
Qualifications
Must Haves:
• 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Testing leadership within large-scale ERP or digital transformation programs.
• Proven experience designing and executing enterprise-level test strategies for complex, integrated solutions. - Demonstrated ability to lead large cross-functional teams and coordinate with multiple vendors and business units.
• Proven experience creating resource capacity and test execution plans for UAT.
• Expertise across multiple testing phases—unit, SIT, performance, regression, end to end and user acceptance.
• Proven experience in coaching quality teams on defect management and reporting.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience reporting to Program and Executive Leadership
• Experience with retail ERP greenfield implementations and end-to-end system integration testing across systems like SAP, Blue Yonder Product Suite, Manhattan WMS, GK POS , Adobe Product Suite and MuleSoft Integration Platform.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks, performance testing, and defect root cause analysis methodologies.
• Quality and project management certifications (e.g., ISTQB, PMP) are strong assets.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with retail ERP greenfield implementations and end-to-end system integration testing across systems like SAP, Blue Yonder Product Suite, Manhattan WMS, GK POS , Adobe Product Suite and MuleSoft Integration Platform.
Knowledge of test automation frameworks, performance testing, and defect root cause analysis methodologies.
Quality and project management certifications (e.g., ISTQB, PMP) are strong assets.
