Responsibilities
Operate thermoforming and extrusion machinery safely and effectively in accordance with company safety rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, reporting any potential hazards.
Continuously monitor product quality using established measurement systems.
Read and review the daily production schedule to meet targets.
Perform all duties related to machine set-up, changeovers, and line condition checks.
Troubleshoot and resolve quality and processing problems, making necessary corrections to the machinery.
Conduct general preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Initiate troubleshooting for mechanical problems and notify supervisors or vendors if repairs are needed.
Complete daily production reports, including data on cycle times, scrap, and packaging.
Operate a forklift and other industrial vehicles to transport materials and finished products.
Assist in making boxes and packing products as required to support production needs.
Support the training of new packers and temporary staff.
Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience operating thermoforming and/or extrusion equipment.
A working knowledge of polypropylene sheeting material.
Must be forklift certified, or willing to be trained and certified.
Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 95% of the shift).
Physical capability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
Flexibility to work a rotating schedule and overtime as required.
Must own steel-toed safety shoes; other PPE will be provided.
A strong commitment to following all safety and company policies.
