A heavy-duty machine manufacturer is seeking an Aluminum TIG Welder / Fabricator to join their fabrication team as a direct hire. Established 50 years ago, this facility operates under controlled goods standards, manufacturing durable, mission-critical interior components for off-road military vehicles. This role is based in the custom aluminum division, where welders handle their own fitting and custom fabrication from start to finish on small to medium-sized builds.
Advantages
- Competitive Pay: $26.00 to $34.00/hour depending on hands-on fitting and TIG experience ($26/hr for developing welders up to $34/hr for seasoned fabricators).
- Early Weekend Finish: Enjoy every Friday afternoon off with a steady Monday–Thursday (6:30 AM – 4:00 PM) and Friday half-day (6:30 AM – 12:00 PM) schedule.

- Comprehensive Health & Wellness: Full medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage after probation.
- Workwear Provided: Company coveralls/uniform program and on-site parking.
- Long-Term Stability: Join a well-established manufacturing facility with continuous training and skill development.
Responsibilities
- Fabrication & Fitting (30%): Read and interpret blueprints and technical schematics; cut, layout, tack, and fit aluminum assemblies independently prior to final welding.
- Welding (70%): Primarily TIG (GTAW) welding on light-to-medium aluminum assemblies, with secondary MIG (GMAW) welding on steel or aluminum when project demands shift.
- Quality & Standards: Produce high-integrity, aesthetically clean welds meeting strict CWB/CSA or AWS defense-grade standards.
- Inspection & Finishing: Inspect fit-ups, clean welds, and verify dimensions against production drawings before parts advance to coating or assembly.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience in aluminum TIG welding and custom metal fitting. We welcome applications ranging from junior TIG welders looking to refine their fabrication skills ($26/hr base) to veteran fabricators capable of start-to-finish fabrication from day one ($34/hr base).
- Blueprint Reading: Strong ability to independently read, interpret, and work from standard fabrication and welding drawings.
- Testing: Ability to pass a hands-on aluminum TIG weld test as part of the on-site interview process.
- Certifications: CWB certification (or ability to achieve certification upon hire) is an asset.
