Responsibilities
◾Oversee and guide the preparation and submission of various land development applications, such as amendments to official plans and zoning by-laws, site plan proposals, minor variances, consent requests, and subdivision plans.
◾Plan and facilitate public engagement sessions, including leading community information events to communicate project details.
◾Conduct detailed research and analysis to support development due diligence and feasibility assessments.
◾Manage project pipelines, coordinate internal team workflows, and collaborate closely with professionals from other disciplines.
◾Organize and execute the technical components of planning and development projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
◾Cultivate and maintain strong client partnerships while contributing to business development efforts.
◾Uphold high standards of professionalism, ensuring accountability for project quality, time management, issue resolution, and adherence to budgets and deadlines.
Qualifications
◾Post-secondary education in Urban or Regional Planning, with eligibility for or current full membership in a recognized professional planning association.
◾Registered Professional Planner designation (or the ability to obtain it within approximately six months).
◾At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the planning field, ideally within a consulting environment.
◾Confidence in preparing reports and presenting to various audiences.
◾Proficiency in office software and design tools commonly used in planning and development projects.
◾Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
