This is a 6-month contract position. The role requires working onsite at our client's office in downtown Toronto 3 days per week, with a transition to 4 days per week later in 2026.
As a UX Designer, you will lead the charge in customer-centric innovation, creating industry-leading experiences across all digital touchpoints. You will be responsible for navigating the strategy space, challenging traditional thinking, and ensuring that the customer remains at the center of every design decision. This role offers significant exposure to the banking industry and the opportunity to shape the future-state of cross-channel experiences.

Responsibilities
• Design Execution: Create high-quality sketches, wireframes, specifications, prototypes, scenarios, and storyboards to visualize and test design solutions.
• Strategic Thinking: Participate in planning and facilitating Design Thinking sessions with stakeholders to shape the strategic experience design approach.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Connect regularly with managers for design reviews and collaborate closely with business and experience design strategy teams to ensure design intent is achieved.
• User Advocacy: Act as the primary advocate for the user throughout the entire project lifecycle, ensuring needs are met through observational studies and usability testing.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with development teams to ensure technical feasibility and that the final product aligns with original design specifications.
• Communication: Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, detailed designs, and rationales to a diverse audience, constructively integrating feedback into your work.
Qualifications
• Education: A degree in design or a design-related discipline (e.g., Industrial Design, User-Centered Design, HCI, or Design Management).
• Experience: 5-7 years of professional experience as a UX Designer, ideally with experience in the public site/banking sector or financial services.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced expertise in Figma is required. Proficiency with Axure and Adobe Creative Suite is highly preferred.
• Design Skills: Proven ability to simplify complicated flows and conceptualize near-term and future-state cross-channel experiences.
• Soft Skills: Meticulous attention to detail, strong logic and analytical skills, and a proactive mindset.
• Portfolio: A creative and visually compelling design portfolio is required for submission to demonstrate your process and attention to detail.
• Knowledge: Deep understanding of web and mobile technologies, current design methodologies, and industry trends.
